Responsibilities: Monitors and reports to the Cluster Lead, and all project managers on the progress of relevant projects; Supports Cluster lead in communicating with funders and project partners representing project leads; Coordinates and contributes to preparing proposals, project reports and outreach materials (including web features and newsletters), as needed; Ensures the centre project management is updated with precise project information according to donor agreement and amendment; Ensures time planning of Cluster team members are correctly updated in the centre time management system; Ensures monthly timesheets are approved as per allocation.

Responsibilities: Design, implement, and oversee on-station and on-farm agronomic trials aligned with breeding and seed systems research objectives; Optimize agronomic packages; Identify and quantify key physiological traits associated with yield, stress tolerance, and resource-use efficiency; Support phenotyping for drought, heat, nutrient stress, and other priority constraints through implementation of standardized phenotyping protocols across sites and seasons; Acquire & process imagery from satellites, drones, and aerial platforms.

Responsibilities: Provide safe and timely transportation of staff, visitors, and goods to and from designated locations in the field; Support logistics arrangements for staff field movements, meetings, CIMMYT events, and emergencies; Inspect, service, clean, lubricate, and perform minor repairs on farm machinery, attachments, and fleet vehicles; escalate major mechanical issues to external service providers; Assist with routine vehicle maintenance (cleaning, oil/water checks, brake checks, tire rotations) and ensure all vehicles meet statutory inspection and roadworthiness requirements; Operate tractors and implements for land preparation (plowing, harrowing, disking, leveling etc.), slashing and field cleaning as required.

Responsibilities: Execute bi?parental crosses in pearl and finger millet as guided by the scientist, ensuring that resulting populations are properly QA/QC’d in coordination with the applied genetics team; Implement and coordinate Forward Accelerated Selfing Technique (FAST) on F2 and F3 populations, maintaining required population size and producing new inbred lines at the end of the FAST workflow; Work closely with the agronomist and station operations team to plan field maintenance, including land preparation, fertilizer application, irrigation scheduling, and weed and pest management for optimal nursery establishment.
