Key Responsibilities:
As the Cyber Security Presales Engineer, your role will encompass providing expert advice and ensuring the successful deployment of cybersecurity solutions. You will be instrumental in guiding clients to adopt best practices and fortifying their digital environments. Your core responsibilities include:
1. Technical Expertise:
- Provide expert guidance to customers on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security best practices, covering critical areas such as:
- Network security
- Data protection
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Threat detection and response
- Stay up-to-date with evolving cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, sharing your knowledge with clients through workshops and presentations.
2. Solution Design:
- Collaborate with customers to design and implement secure cloud architectures that meet their security and operational needs.
- Leverage cloud security tools like Security Command Center, Cloud Armor, and IAM to enhance client infrastructures.
3. Implementation and Support:
- Assist in deploying and configuring cloud security solutions across client environments, ensuring seamless integration.
- Troubleshoot technical issues promptly, providing continuous support for deployed solutions.
4. Security Assessments:
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities within client systems.
- Recommend mitigation strategies based on assessments, aiming to enhance the client’s overall security posture.
5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to ensure customer satisfaction during onboarding and support phases.
- Liaise between technical teams and clients to translate complex cybersecurity concepts into actionable insights.
Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Presales Engineer or Customer Engineer.
- Strong foundational knowledge of security principles and best practices.
- In-depth understanding of cloud computing concepts, particularly in GCP.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security services such as Mandiant, Security Command Center, and Chronicle.
- Familiarity with AWS and Azure as well as hybrid cloud environments.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
