Qualifications
To be considered for the position of Revenue Collector, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: A minimum of a KCSE mean grade of D (Plain). This educational requirement ensures that all candidates possess the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for this role.
- Computer Proficiency: A certificate in Computer Applications is essential. In today’s digital age, proficiency in computer applications is crucial for data management, reporting, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
As a Revenue Collector, you will play a vital role in ensuring that Laikipia County’s revenue collection processes are efficient and transparent. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Revenue Collection: You will be responsible for the collection of various forms of revenue, including taxes, licenses, and permits. Your role will involve engaging with the community to promote compliance and understanding of the revenue collection process.
- Reconciliation and Submission of Revenue: You will ensure that all collected revenues are accurately reconciled and submitted in a timely manner. This involves keeping meticulous records and collaborating with other departments to verify the accuracy of revenue data.
- Preparation of Periodic Revenue Reports: You will be tasked with preparing periodic reports that provide insights into revenue collection trends, challenges, and opportunities. These reports will be critical for informing decision-making and enhancing revenue strategies.
- Revenue Inspection: Conducting inspections to ensure compliance with revenue regulations will also be part of your responsibilities. This includes assessing businesses and ensuring they adhere to licensing and tax requirements.
